!Weekend of Awesomeness!

This weekend was SO much fun! It has been a long time since I had such a fun weekend.

About a month ago, my friend, Katie Hagen, invited me and three other girls to her boyfriend's uncles bull sale in Pine River, MN (WR Bar Ranch). For all of you who don't know where that is, it is about an hour and fifteen minutes south of Bemidji, MN on 371. About two and a half hours from Crookston, where we all left from. We were ready and on the road by 9:45 a.m. to make it there by 1.

The drive there seemed to be kind of long, but the scenery really helped out with that. Living in northwest Minnesota with really flat land doesn't compare to the land out that way. Pine trees and hills everywhere! It was gorgeous! Jamming out to music made the time speed by too.

The weather was amazing as well. 65 degree weather with a breeze made for a very eventful enjoyable day (as you can see with the tank tops below)!

Top Left: Us girls all ready to go (me, Sarah Morris, Anna Christopherson, and Cassie Adams)
Top Right: Our great host and hostess (Dustin Wiese and Katie Hagen)
Middle: All of us girls handing out at the sale (Sarah, Cassie, Katie, Anna, and me)
Bottom left and bottom right: some of the bulls that were being sold
After the sale, we went over to Dustin's house (Flying W Ranch) to go on a little 4-wheeler ride. He gave us a little tour around his family's ranch, along with bringing us through a little mud. Mud doesn't hurt anyone any! :)

Bottom left: Cassie and I
Bottom Right: Sarah, Anna, Dustin, and Katie
After we got back from our little excursion, we got to see some of his other animals other than all the angus cows. :) The llama and the ram, as you can probably tell from the picture, were my favorite parts. I wanted to bring that llama home with me to have on my farm, but I'm pretty sure Bruce and Carolyn wouldn't approve of that (Well, Bruce would)! Sarah, Cassie, and Anna were all very excited to hold a sheep, but I was more excited to hold the ram instead (bottom right)!

After the road trip to Pine River, the bull sale, the 4-wheeling outing, the looking at all the animals, and the road trip back, you would think that we would lay low for the rest of the evening? NOPE! We then decided to head up north to Lancaster because some of my family was up there for the weekend and I really wanted to see and visit them. When we got to my Aunt and Uncle's (Jim and Jan's), everyone was sitting around watching the NASCAR race, so the little cousins (Noah and Deryk) went and got pallets to start a bonfire! After a while of burning the pallets, the other uncle (Uncle Robby) decided we needed a big tire to keep the fire going. For the majority of the night, everyone stood at least 20 feet from the fire and stayed warm.

Even though the weekend conisisted of a lot of driving (approximately 8 hours), there was a lot of fun, a lot of laughs, and a lot of memories.

And remember...Be yourself. Everyone else is taken. :)

summer is just around the corner

Hello Everyone! I have decided to take a stab at this blogging thing. My dear friend, Kalli Peterson, has encouraged me to starting blogging for a long time now, but I just never knew what I could blog about. I started thinking and realized that I have so much going on this summer that I could share it in a blog! Things to be excited about this summer include:

#1: (The most obvious) BEING 21
#2: Being done with school for the summer (only 2 semesters left!)
#3: Interning at Kickin' Up Kountry
#4: Attending Kickin' Up Kountry
#5: Street dances in Kittson County!
#5: Attending WeFest
#6: Possibly (not sure) attending Moondance Jammin' Country
#7: Spending time at the beach/pool with friends and family
#8: and I hate to say it, but more than likely being extremely excited to go back to UMC in the Fall (don't know why, I'm taking on 18 credits :s)
(There may be more, I just can't think of them at the time)

Today, I started reminiscing about summer. The summer of 2012 was one of the best ones yet. Hanging out with friends, street dances, bonfires, the beach, the pool, and of course SMORES! Hopefully the summer of 2013 will be just as great or even better!

Friends and I making smores over the stove burner! :)
As you can see from the picture above, I was craving a smore. My friends (Anna, Sarah, and MIA Cassie) came up with the grand idea to use the stove burner to roast our marshmellows! (it worked perfectly) We then went to Wal-Mart and got the supplies needed for them!! :)

Because knowing summer IS just around the corner and the end of the semester IS only 3 weeks away, it is very difficult buckling down and getting my homework done. The only good thing about this weather being so crappy is that it is delaying spring fever going up a notch.

Well I believe that is all for tonight.

Good night!

And remember...Be yourself. Everyone else is taken. :)
